200,000DWT Manganese Ore Carrier Berthed at Qingdao Port xinde marine news Anita Liu 2019-02-15 16:35


After more than 40 days navigation, the first 200,000DWT manganese ore carrier “Genco Claudius” successfully arrived at Qingdao Port on February 15. This is the largest tonnage manganese ore carrier docked at Chinese ports. 
 
The arrival ceremony of the ship was held in Qingdao Port today. The delegates from Qingdao Port Group, China Railway Jinan Bureau, Tianyuan Logistics Group, Qingdao Maritime Safety Administration, Customs and Sinotrans Group have witnessed this historic moment.

Background:
Ningxia Tianyuan Manganese Industry Group is the world's largest electrolytic manganese supplier. In 2016, Tianyuan acquired the entire assets of Australia miner Consolidated Minerals and in September the company invested $30m to develop the Udiudi mine in Pilbara, Western Australia.

On 2018.01.04,loaded with 109,500-ton manganese ore carrrier, BIRTE OLDENDORFF berthed at Qingdao Port, which is Tianyuan Logistic first manganese ore ship arrived at port of China.
