Dalian Port creates conditions favorable for cruise ships xinde marine news 2019-03-20 15:10

The northeast China port of Dalian is accelerating the pace of creating conditions favorable for the calling by international luxury cruise ships.

The Dalian Customs has improved its work efficiency to cut inspection time for foreigners on board cruisers to enter China.

"For entry tourists, we stick bar codes on their passports and it takes 3 seconds to pass the border inspection and customs clearance," said Zhai Fang, an inspector of the Dalian exit and entry inspection station.

Dalian has in recent years made all-out efforts to develop international cruiser services, normalizing the departure and operation of international cruise ships in northeast China, striving to make northeast China the only mother port for the calling and departure of international cruise ships.

On March 18, the Nautica International cruise ship berthed in the Dalian port, loaded with 684 passengers from Europe and North America. The luxury cruiser stopped for one day, allowing passengers to travel in the downtown area and the neighboring city of Lushun for sightseeing.

In the near future, more than 40 international cruise ships will set off from Dalian, a record high.

The Dalian port will improve hardware, upgrade and overhaul its berthing areas and optimize its services.

"We will accelerate the pace of building the 37,000-square-meter cruiser town and a 150,000-ton berth, striving to make the port the perfect cruise ship center with the highest efficiency and best services," said Zhang Yuanzheng, Deputy General Manager of the Dalian Port Passenger Transport Company.
