The World Dream, a ship owned by Dream Cruises, the first luxury liner brand in Asia, docked at the Xiamen International Cruise Home Port on April 16.

The cruise ship was the largest to be received by Xiamen home port since its berth renovations and upgrades were completed early this April, according to local media reports.

At present, the Xiamen home port is capable of receiving the world's largest 225,000 gross tonnage cruise ships.

"Xiamen home port has obvious advantages in terms of location, business environment and capacity, and the development speed of the cruise industry in Xiamen has been remarkable in recent years," said Lin Yipeng, director of the Xiamen sales department of Dream Cruises.

The Xiamen home port launched 32 cruise ships and its passenger throughput reached 89,278 in the first quarter of this year, with year-on-year growth of 433.33 percent and 283.38 percent, respectively.

The World Dream was rated as one of the ten best large cruise ships by Berlitz Cruising and Cruise Ships 2019, the world's most respected cruise guidebook.

The ship, which has a tonnage of 150,000 and a passenger capacity of 3,376 people, made its maiden voyage at the end of 2017.
