On the afternoon of September 25, with the world's largest 400,000dwt VLOC "Pacific Harvest" loading 390,200dwt imported iron ore, berthing at Ningbo Zhoushan port and starting unloading operation, Ningbo Zhoushan port has received and unloaded 40 world's largest 400,000dwt VLOCs this year.
 
Ningbo Zhoushan Port is the world's largest port in terms of annual cargo throughput and the world's third largest port in terms of annual container throughput. It is one of the 8 ports approved by the Ministry of Transport to dock 400,000dwt VLOCs.

In recent years, Ningbo Zhoushan Port has made great efforts to build a bulk commodity transfer base. Relying on the synergistic effect of iron ore system and the location, deep water, bonded and processing advantages of Shulanghu ore transfer terminal, Ningbo Zhoushan Port has continuously optimized the iron ore transport network and service efficiency to attract iron ore dealers and customers to choose to ship cargoes to Ningbo Zhoushan port.
 
Since September 23, 2016, when the first 400,000dwt VLOC "YUAN JIAN HAI" was taken and unloaded, the number of 400,000dwt VLOCs taken and unloaded at Ningbo Zhoushan Port has increased year by year, ranking the top among China's ports in terms of growth rate.
