A total of 2,000 tons of bunker fuel for local ships – purchased by Shandong Port Qinggang Shihua Energy Development Co Ltd – was recently unloaded at a new oil depot operated by Oil Port Co at Qingdao Port.

The facility's parent company is Shandong Port Group – the massive ports operator based in Qingdao which is also known as SPG – and the event marked the official launch of the depot, which supplies fuel oil for domestic vessels at Qingdao Port.

With the new facility, Oil Port Co at Qingdao Port has reportedly optimized and upgraded its current oil storage area and its terminal operations.

Furthermore, a dynamic oil depot for supplying bunker fuel to domestic vessels and a support terminal has been established, reportedly injecting fresh impetus for the fast-track growth of Qingdao port's bunkering services.

Shandong Port Qinggang Shihua Energy Development Co Ltd is understood to be continuing to expand its presence in the ship-to-ship bunkering business.

With the launch of Qingdao Port's first fuel refueling depot for domestic vessels, plans are to boost operations in ports in Qingdao – to improve its maritime services capacity and serve high-quality regional economic growth, among other things.
