First pollution and carbon reduction report of Chinese ports released Xinde Marine News 2022-04-18 16:17

On April 7, the 2022 China port and ship air climate collaborative control seminar hosted by the Clean Air Asia was held online. The first China port pollution reduction and carbon reduction report was released during this meeting.

The report tracked and evaluated the clean air actions of typical ports in China for two consecutive years. The evaluation includes 10 items in two aspects: emission reduction and management. The evaluation objects are 11 coastal ports such as Ningbo Zhoushan port, Qingdao port and Tianjin port, and 4 inland ports such as Suzhou Port, Wuhu port and Jiujiang port.It also conducted an independent third-party evaluation on the air and climate actions of the evaluation object during the transition period of the "13th five-year plan" and the "14th five-year plan".

The report shows that the coordinated objectives and measures of port "pollution reduction and carbon reduction" are absent, the problem of low utilization rate of cargo vessel shore power is more prominent, and the completion degree of China's shore power construction goal is good, but the utilization rate is low.

The report suggests that transportation, ecological environment and other departments should work together to deeply fight the blue sky defense war and achieve the "3060 double carbon goal".
