Hedland port's iron ore exports to China up 0.65% YoY in May sxcoal 2022-06-10 09:56

Hedland port, the largest iron ore export port in western Australia, exported 47.73 million tonnes of iron ore in May, according to the latest data from the Pilbara Port Authority.
 
The figure was 0.67% lower than the year-ago level but 4.25% higher month on month.
Iron ore shipment to China was 40.45 million tonnes in the month, accounting for 85% of the total exports. It increased 0.65% on the yearly basis and 2.52% from a month ago, data showed.
 
Total iron ore exports through the port picked up 3.61% from a year earlier to 227 million tonnes in January-May, with 193 million tonnes or 85% supplied to China, up 6.81% from the same period of last year.
 
Hedland port is among the largest ports for exporting iron ore in the world. Australian miners like BHP, FMG and Roy Hill Holdings all export iron ore via the port.
