GSI: World's largest double-ended Ro-Ro ship finished sea trial Xinde Marine News Vivian Xu 2022-11-24 15:31


The world's first four-way-drive battery hybrid electric Ro-Ro ship, built by Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) for P&O Ferries, completed its sea trial on November 21.
 
The ship is 230.5 meters long, 30.8 meters wide, carrying 1,500 passengers. It adopts generator battery hybrid system, and is equipped with two pod thrusters fore and aft, which can realize two-way sailing. The ship will travel between Dover of England and Calais of France. It will also be the world's largest double-ended Ro-Ro ship.
