Post-Panamax container ship struck pier at Kaohsiung FleetMon 2023-03-22 10:16


On Mar 21, 2023, Container ship HYUNDAI TOKYO struck pier while berthing at Kaohsiung Port, Taiwan, berth &&, at 0930 LT Mar 20, on arrival from Ningbo in full load. The ship had rather high speed at the moment of contact, reportedly she suffered hull cracks, berth was also damaged. At night Mar 20 HYUNDAI TOKYO shifted berths.

There was pilot on board at the time of an accident, he was found to be intoxicated.
