Asia-Europe rate drops 16pc to US$617/TEU,rises 1pc to USWC

Spot rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday slid 16 per cent to US$617 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Asia-Mediterranean trade ticked up one per cent to $616 per TEU, London's Loadstar reported.
Asia to the US west coast rose one per cent week over week to $1,128 per FEU while those to the east coast up two per cent to $2,150 per FEU.
