China bans these 23 ships to carry out foreign crew changes in domestic ports! xinde marine news Sarah Yu 2021-02-09 14:03

On February 8, Ministry of Transport issued an announcement on suspending the implementation of foreign crew changes on some ships in China.

According to the announcement, during the quarantine process of domestic ports, it was discovered that the 15 crew members of the Liberian ship “OMICRON SKY” (IMO: 9330329) tested positive for COVID-19 nucleic acid, and the 21 crew members of the Panamanian ship “ASIA SPRING” (IMO: 9223320) tested positive, revealing that the ship or the shipping company to which the ship belongs has failed to effectively perform the main responsibility for the prevention and control of COVID-19 epidemic.

Due to the fact that the number of crew members on board with positive nucleic acid test meets the requirements of relevant regulations on the suspension of crew change, it is decided to suspend all ships owned by Omicron Ship Management Inc. and Dia Yuan International Shipping Co.,Ltd. to carry out foreign crew changes at ports in China.
